SX-250 motorcycles come with a single two stroke engine. The SX-250's displacement is approximately 249 cc. The SX-250 is a kick-start bike with power being transferred to the ground via a healthy five gear box. The engine is liquid cooled while ignition type is Kokusan. The motorcycle is also incorporates a wet multi-disc clutch, which is hydraulically operated. While the chassis frame of SX-250 is of the double cradle type, the subframe is made of aluminum. The disc brakes measure 260/ 220 mm both front and rear. The main silencer is made of aluminum. Furthermore the bike features a head angle of 63.5 degrees. SX-250s seat is at a height of 985 mm from the ground. The tank can easily hold up to 2.11 gallons of fuel. The overall weight of the SX-250 is 208 lbs.

These motorcycles are now being counted among top five racers in the motocross arena. However, in spite of its high torque, less experienced riders often find it difficult to understand the transmission mechanism associated with it. The clutch is possibly the best part of this grand machine. As they are exclusively used for racing, the gear spacing is almost perfect for all tracks.
