BMW Motorcycles - 2009 BMW K 1300 R

One of the most popular sports bikes in the recent history are BMW Motorcycles. R1200GS released in 2008 is the most purchased BMW line. This year, the BMW Motorrad will release its newest line of K bikes: the 2009 BMW K 1300 S with 175 hp, K 1300 R with 173 hp and K1300GT with 160 hp. These K bikes have new and upgraded transmission and clutch assembly. Its engine boasts of a smoother and powerful performance. There has been a noticeable and considerable change in the shifting due to a much improved gearbox.

The K 1300 R, an outstandingly muscular bike, is characterized by its superior performance and cutting-edge technology. Its updated and dynamic physical features have wowed many customers and will be popular with urban sports riders who like their bikes aggressive and naked. BMW has created the most powerful naked bike in the new K 1300 R. This naked bike which weighs 243 kg with a full tank, also boasts of new innovative suspension technology that can be upgraded to ESA II Electronic suspension adjustment, new high performance(HP) options including 2D System’s MotoGP-style dash and Gearshift Assistant. All three models have a second-generation BMW Motorrad’s four cylinder power unit which substantially increases its power and torque. The engine has a maximum output of 175hp (129 kW) for the K 1200S, up by 8hp (6 kW). The series can also achieve a maximum power output of 9,250 rpm. It also has a new exhaust system which is designed for more torque, and sportier sound. The large cylinder bores and extended piston stroke also increase the capacity.
